The young male skin structure is firmer, more compact and elastic, and more resilient – something that usually persists into the 30s.
Between the ages of 30 and 50, men's skin ages rapidly, often becoming thinner, drier, looser and more susceptible to sun damage.
After the age of 50, the skin stabilizes again and then changes quite little.
Male skin is also exposed to shaving, which can be very stressful. Some tips to keep in mind for the most gentle shaving possible and to minimize the risk of hair follicle inflammation are:
• Exfoliate the beard area regularly
• Take a warm shower before shaving.
• Always shave with the grain of the hair
• Avoid drying shaving products
• Shave in the evening
